Tiberias man arrested for using hacked credit cards

Eighteen year old allegedly used 3 stolen credit card numbers, is arrested by officer disguised as courier.

An 18-year-old northern resident was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of using three credit card numbers – which were placed on the Internet by an anti-Israel hacker last week – to make online purchases worth thousands of shekels.
The suspect bought a home entertainment system, a Samsung Galaxy cellphone and a Tablet computer, using three stolen Leumi Card numbers, police said.

Leumi Card notified the police after recognizing the numbers as being on a list of tens of thousands of accounts made public by a hacker last week.
“We received a complaint from the security division of Leumi Card,” Ch.-Supt. Jehad Owaida from the police’s northern district fraud squad told The Jerusalem Post. “We traced his address last week, and today one of my officers disguised himself as a courier to deliver ordered goods to him.”
The suspect discovered the the courier was an undercover police officer carrying empty boxes. He was arrested in his Tiberias home.
“He’s not cooperating with us during questioning,” Owaida said.
Police will bring the suspect for a remand hearing before the Acre Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
