Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected Trump's letter last week as deceptive, saying Trump's excessive demands would 'tighten the knot of sanctions and increase pressure on Iran.'
"Iran's position regarding nuclear talks is clear and we will not negotiate under pressure and sanctions," Araghchi said.
PIJ held some hostages in Gaza, and in many cases, it appears hostages held by the group were treated even more brutally than those held by Hamas. Iran is now positioning PIJ for increased activity.
“Given the special status of Syria in the Middle East, Iran believes that the Syrian future should be shaped by its nation," a senior Iranian official said.
“Iran has already made abundantly clear that ‘under no circumstances will Iran ever seek, develop or acquire any nuclear weapons,’” Araqchi wrote on X.
Iran is downplaying too much optimism but it is also hinting that it wants outreach from Washington.
"Instead of Palestinians, try to expel Israelis, take them to Greenland so they can kill two birds with one stone."
"We maintain contact with other Middle Eastern countries and continue to consult with our allies such as China," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said.
Araghchi warned that if the US decides to use past tactics of putting pressure on Iran, they would be met with equal resistance.
Iran’s Foreign Minister went to Beijing on Saturday for high level meetings that focused on Iran’s ties with China as well as talks focused on Gaza and Syria.
