Staff Sergeant Amit Friedman, 19, from Or Yehuda, was killed in Gaza. His funeral will include two flag displays honoring his memory.

At his funeral Tuesday night, held after the Jewish mourning day of Tisha B’Av, his father thanked the gathered for answering the family’s call.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel, eight children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tunnel shafts were also revealed to store weapons and explosives underneath residential areas.

Earlier in the afternoon in southern Gaza, the IDF announced that Nahal Brigade soldiers under the command of Division 162 identified a terrorist who launched an anti-tank missile at them in Rafah.

"The greatest satisfaction I've felt so far was during the last operation to rescue captives, where we played a significant role in the shelling and providing cover," recalled Major Adar.

Soldiers uncovered large stockpiles of weapons hidden in residential buildings in Rafah, including but not limited to AK-47s, ammunition, missiles, explosives, and grenades.

The brigade has destroyed terrorist infrastructure, including positions from which anti-tank fire was directed at IDF forces, stored weapons, sniper positions, and terrorists.
