Amid terror threats: Security forces conduct counterterror op. in West Bank

The IDF said its troops, Shin Bet, and border police officers carried out two operations in the West Bank, in Nablus and Silwad.

IDF troops, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), and border police officers have begun two counterterrorism operations in the West Bank overnight, in Nablus and Silwad, the military said on Monday. 

Earlier on Monday, Walla reported that the IDF had raised the alert levels in the West Bank ahead of the High Holidays.

The report further noted that amid terrorist threats, the IDF is operating in various West Bank localities on Monday and would reinforce security in communities and main roads. 

Troops arrest 20 wanted persons

In addition, throughout the West Bank, the military noted its troops arrested 20 wanted persons, confiscating a gun and material inciting to terror belonging to Hamas. 

The suspects and materials were transferred to the security forces for further investigation, the military noted.

Since the war started in October of last year, over 5,250 terrorist suspects have been arrested in the West Bank, of which 2,050 are affiliated with Hamas.
