Hundreds have gathered to protest and light bonfires outside Tel Aviv's Kirya military headquarters following Hamas's announcement that it would postpone the release of hostages on February 15, Israeli media reported Monday night.
Begin Road and Ayalon South have been blocked due to the protests, causing significant traffic jams in the area.
Politicians react to the announcement
Many politicians took to social media to call for a return to all-out war against Hamas as a means of pressuring them to release the remaining hostages, as well as calling for a new government.
"As expected, the unwritten alliance between Hamas and the failed prime minister is working again," Democrats MK Yair Golan wrote on X/Twitter.
"Netanyahu keeps Hamas in power, and Hamas repays him with an endless war. The neglectful government must be toppled, Hamas must be eliminated, and the hostages must be saved. We will not give up on them. All of them - now!"

"There should be only one response in reality to Hamas's announcement: a massive fire attack on Gaza, from air and land, along with a complete halt of humanitarian aid to the Strip, including electricity, fuel and water, and including bombing the aid packages that have already been brought in and are in Hamas's possession in Gaza," former National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir wrote.
"We must return to war and destroy!" he added.
Avigdor Liberman, head of Yisrael Beiteinu, also insisted that if the hostages would not be released by Saturday, all aid to Gaza should be blocked.
"Rafah crossing will be closed, and the Netzarim route will return to IDF control," he wrote.
"Hamas needs to understand that any violation of the ceasefire agreement will have consequences, and the price this terrorist organization will pay will be painful and heavy," Likud MK Yuli Edelstein wrote.
"We want all our hostages home. If Hamas doesn't understand through words, they will understand through actions."
