In Doha, Blinken advocates for journalist safety as Qatar defends Al Jazeera against allegations of Hamas ties.
He hinted at the possibility that the release of the captives would be part of a regional deal.
Blinken raised the issue during his conversations in Israel with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
“It's also been an imperative for us to try to make sure that this conflict doesn't spread."
