In Israeli cities, sirens blare. And I’m standing in a Paris synagogue, speaking to an audience of 300. They’re listening, truly listening. Many of them understand that time is running out.

Olivia Chow, mayor of Toronto, with the largest Jewish community in the country, did not attend the event.
The measures advised by the NSC include avoiding displaying Jewish or Israeli symbols in public spaces, and avoid attending large events associated with Israel or Judaism.
“We knew he had a place. There’s a marker there with his name and date of birth on it,” Karl Crawford, superintendent of the Greenwood Cemetery, told the JTA. “But he was not there."
A criminal case was opened on grounds of desecration and inciting racial hatred but no further details were provided on the incident.
Participants included Jewish representatives from across Europe, Asia, and Africa, including Tunisia, Morocco, Russia, Kosovo, Israel, Moldova, Romania, and Hungary.
"Wherever we come from, when we come to Staten Island, we are united in peace, and we treat people with respect," Borough President Vito Fossella.
“We will not answer violence with violence,” said Rabbi Sharon Brous of IKAR.
