"There will be zero tolerance for anyone who threatens IDF forces or the border area and communities," Defense Minister Israel Katz commented.
The IDF observers from Nahal Oz made a conscious effort to observe Jewish traditions even while being held by Hamas in Gaza.

"This moment, as I stand here now, is the moment I prayed for over 477 days," said Naama Levy's father, Yoni.
"We are still waiting for the much-needed certainty, which we can only receive after his arrival in Israel," his family said in a statement.
The results of the investigation were presented to the family on Thursday.
"The terrorist stood in front of me telling me what to say in [in the video], and I was alone, without anyone," Yakov recounted.
The IDF noted that families will be allowed to hear the recordings as part of IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi's policy to ensure transparency with bereaved families.
Some parents heard recordings of their daughters for the first time, while others are still waiting for access.
After a discussion with the military, Katz instructed the IDF to provide families with the full communication recordings from the day of the massacre.
