There is a “fierce urgency” to get this "done in the days ahead, and we will do everything possible to get it across the finish line,” Blinken told reporters after visiting Israel, Egypt, and Qatar.

"I urge the Administration to immediately cease this failed operation before further catastrophe occurs and consider alternative means of land and air-based humanitarian aid delivery."

Aid began arriving via the US-built pier May 17, and the UN said it transported 137 trucks of aid to warehouses, some 900 metric tons, before the US announced May 28 that it had suspended operations.

According to the Pentagon spokeswoman, the Pentagon believes it will be able to re-anchor the pier and operate without further hindrance from weather conditions. 

The IDF has given the US military assurances it will provide security to US forces operating on the temporary floating causeway.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin clarified that the decision referred to only one shipment of arms and that no final decision had been made regarding other arms transfers to Israel. 

Ryder said it's important to highlight this occurred before any US forces started moving any supplies, and no US assets were damaged. It's unclear if any Israeli assets sustained damage.

Israel will not accept responsibility for this attack for strategic reasons.

US will support sending munitions to Israel if bill passes successfully.
