'Iran's red line was crossed': Security experts discuss Iranian threat to activate US sleeper cells

The Jerusalem Post reached out to US security and community security bodies to ascertain the threat posed by Iran-sponsored domestic terror in light of US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Iran sent a message to President Trump threatening to activate US-based sleeper cells should he order strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, NBC revealed on Sunday, not long after the US struck three facilities.

Given the strikes took place, The Jerusalem Post reached out to US security and community security bodies to ascertain whether the news of Iran-sponsored threat on US soil is new or long-awaited.

Michael Masters, CEO of the Secure Community Network (SCN) – the official safety and security organization for the Jewish community in North America – said “Iran would not strike in the US unless a red line was crossed."

It's official without being official.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has put Israel all in to try to help facilitate regime change in Iran.

He is not saying it 100% explicitly and the IDF is very carefully avoiding saying it, but on Monday, for the first time, the IDF attacks on Iran seemed to be an overwhelming majority against the regime's internal political power versus its nuclear or external military power.

Israel's air force took the time out to bomb a clock – a symbolic clock in Iran about destroying Israel – but nevertheless, a clock.

Iran telegrammed its response to US strikes on its nuclear sites, prior to carrying out the attacks. Throughout Monday Iran prepared to fire retaliatory missiles, however it appears initially it sought to fire only a few missiles, making it clear that while it must respond, the country does not want an escalation.

Initial reports said Iran launched between 6 and 10 missiles at a US base in Qatar and perhaps also targeted the US presence in Iraq.

Reuters reported that explosions were heard over Doha, the capital of Qatar, while sirens were also heard in Bahrain according to Sky News.

Explosions were heard over Doha, Qatar's capital on Monday evening.

Authorities issued a warning that US Central Command (CENTCOM)'s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar could be the target of an imminent Iranian attack, The Jerusalem Post was told on Monday evening by a source familiar with the details.

Al Udeid Air Base is the largest US base in the Middle East, and serves as the forward headquarters for CENTCOM,  accommodating approximately 10,000 troops.

Qatar shuts airspace amid fears of Iranian retaliation on US assets

Qatar said it has shut down airspace temporarily as part of measures taken amid developments in the region, a statement by the Qatari foreign ministry said on X.

It said the move comes to ensure safety of residents and visitors.

The shutdown of Qatari airspace comes as Iran repeated earlier threats to retaliate against the United States after strikes on its nuclear sites.

IDF strikes Hezbollah military sites, weapons storages in south Lebanon

The IDF conducted strikes on military sites belonging to the terrorist group Hezbollah in south Lebanon, the military confirmed on Monday evening.

The sites contained rocket and missile launchers, as well as weapons storage facilities located north of the Litani River, the IDF announced.

Footage shared by Israel's public broadcaster, KAN News showed pillars of smoke rising in the aftermath of the strikes.

WhatsApp banned on US House of Representatives devices - memo says

Meta Platforms' WhatsApp messaging service has been banned on all US House of Representatives devices, according to a memo sent to House staff on Monday.

The notice to all House staff said the "Office of Cybersecurity has deemed WhatsApp a high-risk to users due to the lack of transparency in how it protects user data, absence of stored data encryption, and potential security risks involved with its use."

The memo, from the Chief Administrative Officer, recommended other messaging apps, including Microsoft's Teams platform, Amazon's Wickr, Signal, Apple's iMessage, and Facetime.
