Iran threatened US President Donald Trump that it would launch terror attacks from within the United States if he ordered strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, NBC News reported Sunday, citing two sources.

Iran reportedly sent Trump the threat at the G7 summit earlier this month and warned that the Islamic Republic could activate "sleeper cells" from within the US.

Trump confirmed US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan on Saturday night, and later said that the three sites were "completely and totally obliterated."

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin, which is reportedly due to a "heightened threat environment" across the country due to the strikes. However, she later elaborated that there are currently "no specific credible threats" from within the country.

“It is our duty to keep the nation safe and informed, especially during times of conflict,” Noem said. “The ongoing Israel-Iran conflict brings the possibility of increased threat to the homeland in the form of possible cyberattacks, acts of violence, and antisemitic hate crimes.”

The overnight US air assault that ravaged Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities has “dramatically” improved the chances of a historic Saudi-Israel normalization deal and showed that regime change in Tehran remains the only path to lasting regional security, US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

Speaking minutes after President Donald Trump confirmed that American warplanes had “obliterated” the three sites, Graham said he had already spoken to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who “made it very clear … Israel is not going to live this way anymore,” referring to years spent under the shadow of Iranian missiles and nuclear escalation.

“You’re not going to raise your children in bomb shelters,” Graham quoted the premier as saying. “Israel’s job is not finished.”

US President Donald Trump suggested the Islamic Republic of Iran was due for a regime change in a Truth Social post on Sunday.

"It’s not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change? MIGA!!!" the US president wrote.

Shortly after, Trump wrote on the platform that the B-2 bombers used in strikes on Iran had returned to US territory.

"The GREAT B-2 pilots have just landed, safely, in Missouri. Thank you for a job well done!!!"

"Obliteration is an accurate term!  The white structure shown is deeply embedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!"
