In an episode called “Rachel weeping for her children,” Rachel Goldberg-Polin spoke with Rachel Goldberg, the widow of late reservist Rabbi Avi Goldberg, Hersh’s teacher.
Daniel was an Israeli MMA champion and competed internationally before joining the Golani Brigade as a combat soldier.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at the cemetery in Gan Haim.
All six soldiers were from Golani's 51st Battalion.
"Nir was a hardworking boy, excelling in computers, who chose combat service out of a desire to contribute to the country," Dimona Mayor Benny Biton said.
The funeral will take place tomorrow, Thursday, at 3:30 PM in the military section of the cemetery in the town.
The family has asked mourners not to visit their home at this time and to respect their privacy.
